Just a quick update today. Mommy and daddy went to my school and had a conference with my teacher. Apparently I'm doing great and will be ready for preschool in no time. Sadly, they also learned I can do lots of stuff now so I have to help around the house more. At least I get some stickers out of it. Mommy had to do something the other day so I volunteered to watch Rae. We had lots of fun as you can see:

But it's not all work, I get to have fun as well. Here's me playing with a cool drawing pad Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai got me for Christmas.

Mommy went a bit crazy with the camera and took a lot of videos but I think they are pretty good.

I've gotten pretty good with singing, this is my best Mr. Doug (my music teacher) impression

As some of you may know, I'm a big fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but I think it could use some improvements, here's my pitch.

Mommy and Daddy took me and Rachel to the zoo last weekend. The theme of our visit was being brave. I did things that I've been afraid to do before and challenged myself to try new things as well.

Here's me playing with the Oranguntans. Look how close I am to the glass. Last year, I wouldn't go within five feet of them.

Then we went to the bird house. I've always loved looking at the birds but I'd never wanted to feed them. The birds that day were particularly gregarious. I had one land on my head and another landed on Rachel's head (she didn't like that :-(). I tried to feed them for a while but then I got scared, maybe next time I can feed them the whole seed stick.

To relax after that, we went for a ride on the carousel. I really had fun on it and daddy let me ride on the horse by myself and he rode the horse next to me.

Finally, check out how brave daddy and I were to do our little dance in public.

In non-zoo related news, I got an airplane that I could take apart for Christmas. I've been practicing for a while and now I think I've got the hang of it.

Happy New Year everyone! I didn't get to stay up but that's ok, everyone's been sick including me so I probably would've been grumpy anyway. We did get a new calendar though, I'm glad there's more months to come. The cold hasn't been stopping me from having fun though. Christmas was great, we made cookies and ate a lot of food that I didn't like, then we opened presents. I got almost everything I wanted from Santa and he ate some of the cookies I left out for him (the reindeer had some of the carrots I left out).

I wonder

After that we hung out and were sick together, that kinda sucked but then we went sledding. That was so much fun and daddy let me go on my tummy by myself and we built little snowmen, it was awesome.

Well, it's almost Christmas, I've been so antsy that I've been driving mommy and daddy bonkers. They took me to this cool Children's Museum just so I would wear myself out. It was super cool, I played with these great trains, a real truck, a color board, and in lots of pretend places. I could've stayed there for days and not have left. Hopefully I'll get to go again.

We also went to see some reindeer. Yes, some real reindeer! They were pretty cool but I really liked the camel best. His name was Curly and he had a friend named Moe (Moe was a Donkey). Curly was really nice and gave daddy a surprise lick. Then he ate some bread and marshmallows, Curly that is. Oh, and Santa was there too. I told him I wanted a Thomas train for Christmas. He said he would work something out with the elves. I hope they work fast, there's not much time.

Sorry that I've been offline for so long but my gramps passed away in November. Everybody was pretty bummed for a while but I did my best to cheer everyone up and I looked pretty sharp in my outfit too.

I really liked having everybody over to visit, it was fun to have all my great aunts and uncles and my cousin to play with plus I got some pretty neat gifts (check out me with a truck I got to paint).

Also Yeh Yeh and Nai Nai came to visit me and Rachel. We had lots of fun together and I loved having them around. They got me some stickers and I loved them so much I wore them, hehehe.

The firehouse also had an open house, I got to my new Fireman boots and my fire chief hat on and showed everyone what a good fireman I am. The fire engines were extra cool (that's my new favorite word by the way). I also sang lullabies to Rachel. That's cool dude!

Here's some more cool things, including a giant pencil and eraser and this cool truck that my friend Julian in Japan sent me!

Last but not least, it's almost Christmas time! I loved helping to decorate and I got to have hot chocolate with marshmallows as I helped put ornaments up on the tree. Sometimes, I even rearrange the ornaments, just to make sure that I got them perfect. Mommy, Daddy, Rachel and I went downtown to see Santa so I could tell him what I wanted for Christmas. I was a little shy, but I made sure that he could hear me. Rachel didn't seem to mind him at all. I'll report back on if I made the nice or naughty list this year.

Oh, and we got to go on a carousel ride too, Sam out!

I was very excited about halloween this year! Mommy let me pick out my own costume, and I picked out a dinosaur. ROAR!!! Little sister was a polar bear. Aren't we a cute pair?

ROAR!!!!

On Friday, I went to daycare because they had a fun day planned. I got to wear my costume all day, except for lunch and nap. I bobbed for apples, traded candy with my buddies, and sang lots of Halloween songs. Around 3, Mommy and Daddy came by for our party. We chased edible ghosts (I got a blue sucker!) and had cookies and juice. After that, we went to Mommy's office where everyone got to meet Rachel and I got to go on my first round of trick or treating. After that, we went and showed Grammy our costumes and had dinner at her house.

On Saturday, Mommy let me wear the top half of my costume everywhere - the farmer's market, the dog park, and the playground. It was great! That night Mommy took me out trick or treating in the neighborhood. I really liked the blue glow sticks, but I got scared by some of the decorations. We only made it to about 4 houses, but I got plenty of candy!

It's almost halloween, we got into the spirit by carving pumpkins. I had some fun ripping out the guts of the pumpkins but let daddy finish carving mine for me. I had some trains to tend to you know.

Guts!

October 20, 2009

Hey everyone, it's been an exciting week. I got a great new set of pajamas from Grammy that I love. It's a superhero custome with a cape so if you need help I'll come and help you.

Help!

I'm also working hard on my letters and numbers. I know that my name starts with S now and I'm working on the first letter of my last name. It's not all work though, we have fun singing about the letters too.

We also went to the pumpkin patch with little sister. She didn't seem so interested but I had a great time meeting all the animals and going on the rides. The pumpkins were cool too but my favorite was the tractor hayride.

What's up fellow firefighters? I've been keeping mommy and daddy busy with lots of imaginary play. My favorite games are hocus pocus, where I turn daddy into a frog or a lion, and firefighter, where we dress up in our firefighter outfits and go fight a fire at the zoo (with a stop for pizza afterwards). I'm having a lot of fun with real world stuff as well including this fun game called painting that daddy introduced me to. We got super messy but it was fun.

Messy!

Things are going well at home, I really love my little sister. Short post today but I wanted to tell you about the special desert we had last night. It was called a root beer float and I got to make it myself. I really liked the bubbles and the ice cream but the root beer I didn't finish. While we were having desert, we were talking about vacations and I told mommy and daddy that we should go back to Disney World after desert and that they could both go on the Dumbo ride, one elephant each. Boy, I love Disney World.

I love my little sister, I'm really good with her and know how to hold her by supporting her head and what noises to make if she gets fussy.

She's here! She's here! I have a little sister named Rachel. She was born yesterday but I got to visit her today. I got her a soft monkey for a present and she got me a fishing game. I was really excited to meet her and like holding her and touching her even though she was asleep. It was super cool. I was so excited I had to do a headstand.

Baby!

September 27, 2009

Hello happy people! No little borther or sister yet but I'm getting pretty anxious. To relieve that anxiety, I've been playing lots of new games with daddy like slide across the floor with socks on and my new favorite, Ball Racing!

I'm also really into dance parties with my favorite music, daddy's pretty good but I'm cuter.

One last note, remember how I said I was going to be a dinosaur for Halloween this year? Well, check me out!

September 21, 2009

Sam here, I would like to report the appearance of my new ... shoes! Hahaha, betcha you thought I was going to say baby, didn't you :-p I'm still waiting for my new baby brother or sister. I'm not slowing down though, it's been a busy couple of weeks. I went to the zoo again and had a great time. Check out this great shell I found.

I see you

I'm big enough where I don't need to take a nap anymore so I stayed at the zoo the whole day. I was pretty tired and fell asleep on the way home (and a little there as well).

I'm awake!

But it hasn't been all fun and games, I graduated to the pre-preschool room last week and am having so much fun. I love all my new teachers and there's lots of new toys to play with. There's a little pretend kitchen, dress up areas (my favorite is the firefighters), and lots of good books to read. To celebrate, mommy and daddy took me to get my hair cut at a professional barber shop.

Buzz

As you can see, I multitasked and drove a race car while I got my hair cut. I was really brave and only flinched a little, even when she cut around my ears. I'm not sure if it's worth it though since mommy does such a nice job at home.

Oh yeah, did I mention I got new shoes as well? They are super cool Spider Man, shiny red and blue shoes. I love them! I had to tell my teacher all about them this morning and my haircut.

It's also time to start thinking about Halloween. Mommy and daddy asked me what I wanted to be and I'm going to be a dinosaur! The costume's not here yet but I still fit into my monkey suit from last year so I've been wearing that around the house. It's great for cooking, you get a really nice monkey flavor on everything. Check out this video of me making udonantang noodles with daddy.

September 9, 2009

It's almost time for my new baby brother or sister to get here so don't be surprised if I go offline for a while. There's lots of new pictures from this past weekend to keep you entertained though. Julian and his parents came to vist us and we had a big party. We also went to the zoo and the playground but my favorite part was the cupcakes!

Mom said that I'm too big for my carseat so I had to get another one. It's really cool and looks like a race car. My favorite part is that I have a cup holder now. Well, that's the favorite part of the carseat, the box it came in is even better!

It's been another busy week. I took a ride on an Airplane to visit mommy and daddy's friends in California and their baby boy Julian. I was a really good boy on the airplane ride and colored my books. I'm even trying to stay inside the lines. Everybody was pretty tired when we got there so we took it easy and just went to the park. I found lots of things to climb on including this weird thing.

I also played with Julian. I wasn't so sure about him yet but we had a good time on the swings.

We had a BBQ for dinner and I was super hungry so I ate almost a whole burger by myself and corn. That was the start of a long weekend of burgers and corn...

The next morning, we slept in a bit and then headed out to Monterey for the Aquarium. There was a cool touch pool there and I found some seaweed that I liked.

While we were having lunch, Uncle Robin was silly and made faces at me and Julian through the window. We made fun of him too.

Julian and I also had lots of fun together but our favorite part was playing on the bouncy pad.

There was lots of stuff to love about the Aquarium, but my favorite two things were the otters and dressing up. I'm totally an octopus!

Oh, and one more thing, I was totally scared of the waterfall at the beginning of the day, but then I loved it at the end.

For dinner, mommy made us stop at In-N-Out. I didn't see what the big deal was but they had a pretty good shake. Oh, and I had a burger and corn again as well. Check me out with this awesome birthday party hat.

The next day we went to the California Academy of Sciences. It was ok but really the food was the best. The plastic stuff was a bit weird but there was corn for lunch!

Finally, we went to a really yummy Chinese restaurant for dinner. There weren't any burgers and corn there but I was having too much fun playing with my new friend Julian by then. I can't wait until he comes to visit me in a few weeks.

Well, as you can see, I had a really great weekend, hope you did as well.

August 10, 2009

Thank goodness it's cooled off, we went on vacation to Vancouver last weekend and mommy would've hated walking around when it's hot. Vancouver was pretty fun. We went to Chinatown, Science World, and swam a lot at the hotel. But what I really liked was playing with some new friends. Julian and Madeline were super fun, we went on a train ride and played at the park.

I also met Julian's baby sister Meg, she was super nice and we played peek-a-boo and I tickled her. I really liked her and now I'm really excited about the baby in mommy's tummy.

Since we were on vacation, I had to use the regular potty a lot and now demand it at home. I'm a big boy! Well, time to go, I got school tomorrow you know.
