Mommy and daddy took me to The Folklife Festival this weekend. I had fun watching the people and listening to the music but there were sure a lot of weird hippies there. That was about the extent of my fun though, I got my first cold this weekend :-( It wasn't too bad but I had a runny nose and was pretty sleepy. A couple of times I sneezed and snot came out both nostrils; I kind of looked like a dragon. I'm nearly better though and mommy said I handled it like a champ!

I started transitioning into daycare this week, since Mommy goes back to work soon. The first day was very scary and I just wanted to be held by my teachers. The second day was a little easier, but when Mommy left to get lunch, I got a little worried. By the third day, I was almost a pro! Now I just have to get used to sleeping when the other kids are making noise.

You know what the best part was? I got to paint! It was green and wet and squishy, but I liked it. :)

I've been doing a lot of developing this week. I grabbed a toy with my hands and brought it up to my mouth for further exploration. I'm also starting to babble with multisylabic sounds. The tv also intrigues me but mommy and daddy won't let me look at it. Crawling is also on the horizon, my back end is ready but my front end isn't yet. Maybe I'll just scoot for a while.

I was at the zoo playing on my tummy and then Katie came over and kept squeezing my ear. It was annoying and kind of scary. Girls are weird.

How come there's no kids' day? Really, there's Mother's Day and Father's Day and I even gave Grammy a card today, but when is it Sam's day? I guess I'm kind of grumpy since mommy and daddy are helping me sleep on my own. It's not bad but I woke up cranky for some reason today. Things were intersting at brunch though and I chewed on my ball-y. Well, happy Mother's Day :-p

I visited the daycare today. My teacher is really nice and there's another girl there who's only a few days older than I am. I'm going to start there in June and with a transition a couple of weeks ahead. They're going to use purple to label my stuff. I hope nobody thinks I'm a girl. I played on the floor with another baby. He's more advanced than I am and can reach out now. He kept trying to grab my head like a toy, annoying... I'm kind of looking forward to going somewhere different with new toys and people, there's even a mud wrestling tournament in the summer :-)

We also went to the doctor today because of a rash but he said it was very mild and no big deal. My gas seems to be getting better too but mommy has to try to fatten me up since my weight is a little off.

I'm hungry and I'm sleepy. It must be my three month growth spurt. My mind is developing as well. I've taken to staring at my toes and playing with my hands now. I also enjoy playing pattycake and getting rasberries and laughing like crazy :-)
